Meet Coach Lasalita
Thirteen years coaching, and just about every age there is — from kindergarteners taking their first dribble to a German all-star team he took to high-level tournaments in Las Vegas. He played four years at Clarkson University, so he can show a kid what a shot should look like instead of just describing it. He runs every San Marcos session himself — and with young kids of his own, he knows exactly what a five-year-old’s attention span looks like.
❓Questions
Does my kid need to have played before?
No. Some have played a season, some have never touched a ball. They all work in the same hour.
Is this a league?
No — it’s skills and scrimmages. Every session is the same: we teach the basics, then play 3-on-3. No standings, no season record.
What do they bring?
Shoes and a water bottle. The ball and jersey come with the kit.
What’s the $50 kit?
One time, first year only: a jersey, a size 6 (28.5) ball to keep, and Sol membership, which gets you discounts on camps.
Can parents help?
Yes, and most weeks we need you. Parents run drills and coach the 3-on-3 games.
What size hoop and ball?
Lowered hoops and a size 6 ball, so shooting form actually develops instead of getting hurled at a 10-foot rim.
